Some latin dance styles....

I adore latin music and few dance forms like Salsa, Cha Cha Cha, Jive, Rumba(my fav). It is the most effective stress reliever for me. You can go very fast with Salsa and very slow (n sensual) with Rumba. Have a look at the above styles in action, below.

Rumba - the most sensual of all

You and me we rise above we can make our dreams come true
One by one we take our turns and we make our dreams come true

(Verse 1)
From red to green
From poverty to prosperity
Together we move on forward
From dust to bloom
From midday sun to evening rain
Together we move on forward
From tears to laughs
From red tin roofs to marble floors
Together we move on forward
From sugar canes to jackfruit
From bows and arrows to arms of steel
Together we move on forward

'Cause life is as you make it
So fill your day with hope and wishful thinking
When all your dreams seem to have faded
You meet somebody who shows you that you've made it

(Verse 2)
Street corner phone booth lady come move forward
Three kings of the SeSe beach move forward
Red kids join the mattress man move forward
Together we can rise above just come move forward

(Verse 3)
Hugo Boss herding chickens come move forward
Hustlers outside taxicab move forward
Backpackers smoking ganja come move forward
Together we can rise above just come move forward

(Verse 4)
From keys to beats
From dancehall riddim to crippled rockstars
Together we move on forward
From ash to dream
From long blackouts to fake waterfalls
Together we move on forward
From head to toe
From round faces to shoulder creases
Together we move on forward
From jebeleh-nyo to webeleh-nyo
From mokwa nogwan to oli buloonji
Together we move on forward

(Chorus) x 2

(Pre-chorus) x 1

Together we move forward

Indian songs sung by Foreigners@youtube

Its very hard to sing old Hindi songs especially when its not your mother language. The ragas are tough to tame as they need regular practise. So when I see a foreigner singing perfect hindi song, my dil goes hmmmmm hmmmmm hmmmmmmm. Have a listen to few of them!

Siti Nurhaliza - Tinak Tin Tana
I used to hate this song until I heard her. She sang it soooooooo damn well. It is better than the original. I am not sure if she understands anything of what she is singing but her control on the ups n downs is sooo perfect.... and she has got a nice voice too. Did I tell you that she is very beautiful as well? :)

Selamat Berpisah (Likhe Jo khat Tujhe)
Malaysians are crazy about Hindi songs, they simple love it. I heard some Malay guys and gals singing "mera juta hai japani" at one Malaysian wedding in Singapore. I was like woooooooooo do they know what they are singing....... but whatever they were singing they sang perfectly. even the song below is sung nicely. Hear it!

Shudhar Sthuthikum veedea - Malayalam Song by a Finland lady
I dont know what she is singing but her voice is so enchanting... and she is singing it so good....hear it. Only problem is the wierd dead expression on her face.

Cute Kids Singing @ youtube

Here are the best songs sung by kids on youtube. Watch them and you will be surprised to see their enthusiasm, talent and energy level.

This korean girl is chooooooooo sweeeeet. Hear her and you will fall in love with her.

The cutest baby.... watch her facial expresions while she sings.......

Heather Martin - when are you coming home
6 year old Heather Martin sings a song that her mother wrote for her Brother Shaun who is serving in Iraq. The song is written from Heather's point of view.

You were almost sixteen when I came into the world.
Mom and Dad had you first then 3 more boys I'm the baby girl.
I sure have a lot to look up to in you, you're really smart and funny with a big heart too.
After one year of college you knew what you had to do.
It's just like you wanting to help with the war.
So you joined the army when I was only 4.
This time of year we talk of big plans but you're over seas in some distant land.
You can't be here for Christmas, I don't understand.

When are you coming home, Shaun?
When are you coming home?!
We lit up the house like we always do but it doesn't seem bright 'cause we can't have you.
In my prayers I ask God to keep you safe.
And I'm trying to be really brave.
Tell me that the fighting's through.
Come home!
I really miss you.

It's hard to enjoy the holidays without you.
But we're so proud of you and all the red white and blue.
Remember that Jesus is your best friend,
And someday our families will be together again.
Wow! You know we'll have a great big party then.

I want to show you how tall I've grown and introduce you to my new friends at school.
Maybe we could go and get some ice cream together but I really don't care what we do

Another song by Heather Martin - Walkin'
Watch out her hand and body gestures....superb

life is not that bad.........

Its not that bad after all this

31 Jan 2007, Delhi : A senior executive, who was on its way to settle in US, was robbed off his hangbag containing his and two son's passports, tickets, emigration papers, school certificates, college certificates, US$ 6000 + some travellers cheque right from the entry gate of IGI airport. He missed the flight and his dream got shattered. He sold off everything in India and was going to settle down in US. His story was published by Times Of India next day.

5 Feb 2007, Delhi : He recieved 17 envelopes without any stamp at his home. He had to pay 900 Rs to get the delivery and when he opened the envelopes, he found that the "thief" has a partial change of heart and retured some of his documents, minus the money. The envelope also contained an over a century old picture of Lord Venkateshwara which has always been with the family.

5 Feb 2007, Delhi : The state consumer commission has ordered recovery of 50K from the salary of former LIC chief for unjust repudiation of a consumer claim. LIC refused to pay claim on the ground that his policy has lapsed on the day when he met with an accident(and battled for life for amost one year after the accident).

Its so wierd but I like what state consumer commission said in the end, " We do not know what kind of officers are manning these institutions. To become overzealous and to suffer from the disease of self-aggrandisement and to deprive sadistic pleasure in the miseries of consumers, on whose money they are surviving and thriving is abominable."

Me @youtube....

This is one of the songs I played at TIBCO's (my company) 2007 bash. The song is called "Gulabi Ankhen". This is one of my fav song.

You can either hear the song by clicking on the play button above or listen in youtube.

One of my friend told me that She Wanna Be a Certified Bitch!!! ....... I asked her why and she said ..........

~ When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, they call me a bitch.
~ When I stand up for those I love, they call me a bitch.
~ When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts or do things my own way, they call me a bitch.
~ Being a bitch means I won't compromise what's in my heart.
~ It means I live my life MY way.
~ It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.
~ When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak against it, I am defined as a bitch.
~ The same thing happens when I take time for myself instead of being everyone's maid, or when I act a little selfish.
~ It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won't become anyone else's idea of what they think I "should" be.
~ I am outspoken, opinionated and determined.
~ I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!

So try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me. You won't succeed.

And if that makes me a bitch, so be it. I embrace the title and am proud to bear it.

some really amusing stuff.......

Wow this is some really amusing stuff. See how our right brain catches the "right" words from the complete address. These are some of the genuine websites but when their names appear in the url they look really shady. :-)

1) Firstly there is "Who Represents" a database for agencies to the rich and famous: (but there is no such present.....)

2) Second is the "Experts Exchange", a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views (this has now been changed with a hyphen, but the address still works):

3) Looking for a pen? Look no further than "Pen Island":

4) Need a therapist? Try "Therapist Finder"

5) And last but not least, the "Mole Station Native Nursery", based in New South Wales :

love is madness.....

I just love this movie. Have you ever feel like killing you partner over littlest things at one moment and you can't live without him/her the other, well this movie is all about it. Jolie is show stealer as she is wild and her facial expressions are amazing. Brad is funny and romantic.

No wonder after making this movie they both fall in love and got married. I believe a relationship becomes boring after some time so you need constant stimulation(of course not to the extend shown in this movie) to keep it going. But whatever, this is a nice movie to watch.

I received one sms few days back which compliments the above movie.

Before marriage:
Roses are red, violets are blue
Oh my darling you are so beautiful, I love you

After marriage:
Roses are DEAD, I am BLUE
You are getting on my nerve
Some day I will kill you.

Thought-provoking yeah.....................

Somebody gonna get a-hurt realll badd..

Russell Peters is unarguably one of the best Stand-Up Comedian so far. He is really funny and the way he imitates his dad is really really cool. I have seen his video couple of times and every time it makes me laugh. His roots are Indian but he is a native of Canada.

Kanha Trip.... woh lamhe

Its been a month I am back from Kanha(Tiger Sanctuary in MP, India), I still remember everything about that trip, such was the effect of the tigress.

I have made a mini site of the same, clik here to view it. Since it was more of an offline presentation earlier, the side links are not working currently. I am in the process of compressing the powerpoint presentations and linking them up. Not sure how to make the videos available to all, but will think something about that also.

Out of all the things we saw at Kanha, the best thing was sighting a tigress, that too from a distance of 10- 12 meters. I cant explain how I was feeling at that time, all I can say is that "It was all appearing unreal and her gaze was soooooooooooooooooo hypnotic".

Look at what we captured

We waited for her for hours and the moment we found her, it was worth it. There were some 4 safaris....... she looked at us... she was not alone, her cubs were also there but they were hiding......

::: isn't it hypnotic....:::

She started walking in the other direction on the road.....

::: I like her confidence :::

Now we were about to start following her... then something interesting happened..... a bike was coming from the same side.....

::: can u see the bike with two people coming towards her :::

Suddenly the bike stopped, they saw the tigress coming towards them

::: I wish I could see their face :::

They just left their bike there and ran away......

::: the fear factor :::

Well flat tyre is a common thing but a tyre burst like this is not common....

::: can u see the condition of the tyre :::

lets zoom it .....

::: can u see it now :::

All in all it was a nice trip and looking forward for more of such trips.....

PS: don't forget to view the mini site I made and keep watching this space for the ppts......

Amboli trip...... lesson to learn

In the following pictures you will see how difficulties or bad things sometimes become blessing in disguise.

Our youngest member of the group is angry and crying over something ... but walking all alone... and only god knows from where he got this weird stick.

::: somehow he is more towards the centre of the road..... :::

::: the great fall..... :::

before somebody helps him .. he got up of his own .... lemme remind you that he was angry over something so may be this anger had made him overcome the fall.

::: I can manage... of my own :::

Now he is not crying, he is just walking
::: See I told you .. I can manage :::

He is now playing with a kitten.
::: tsk tsk tsk poor kitten :::

Well the lesson to be learned here is that sometimes "a fall" is actually helpful. if you see the above scenario, the youngest member is crying and only he knows why and for what he is crying. He falls.... his anger gives him the strength to overcome the fall...... and when he gets up, he forget that he was crying for something.

So the fall has helped him in getting up.....
the fall has helped him in forgetting what he was crying for......
the fall has helped his parents to stop thinking on why he was crying and what does he want...
the fall has helped us to shoot this cool situation....
the fall has helped him to get rid of that weird stick ..else nobody knows how he would have utilized it.......

Amboli trip...... invasion of leeches

Well this was the most horrifying and somewhat memorable part of our trip.

Nobody was aware that something like this will also in store for us. Girls were the easy victims and most of them end of having 15+ leech bytes. It was scary to see blood dripping from their feets but everybody was so cool about it.

It all started like this ...a mist full rainy evening.... our group is on our way to a small trek.....

::: the journey begins.... :::

We were not aware that leeches were waiting for us and while we were walking, they were climbing on our shoes and moving up to some exposed area....(sounds cool yeah.....isn't it .....but it wasn't).

And when we realised that we have been "LEECHED", it was too late. They were all over our feets and this is how it ended.

::: collateral damage :::

::: leeched effect :::

::: another one... :::

::: the culprits....... marooooooooooo :::

ps: You know what! I had only one leech byte, because I was looking down all the way and not letting them climb on my shoes.

Amboli trip......

Finally I am back.... to my blog.. its been ages I last own blog.

So here are the memories of my Amboli trip. Amboli is a beautiful hill station close to the Maharashtra-Goa border. As usual I went with Foliage Outdoors and it was a 4 N/ 5D trip and worth it.

The best part was the rain... it was not stopping only ... and the interesting part was the "invasion of leeches". Keep watching the pics and you will know what I mean.
